Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo Self-winding Flying Tourbillon Ultra-thin RD#3
The first Royal Oak "treasure" in fifty years to feature an automatic flying tourbillon. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon
The Royal Oak's 50th anniversary celebration is not over yet. In January, Audemars Piguet launched a series of models celebrating half a century of its iconic Royal Oak, including a 41mm Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon powered by a movement recently developed for the brand’s Code 11.59 collection. What we see today is also the Royal Oak Flying Tourbillon, but it will excite pure watch lovers as it is the first Jumbo to feature an ultra-thin flying tourbillon movement in fifty years. The challenge for AP’s watchmakers and engineers was to accommodate the complications reserved for the 41mm RO within the smaller 39mm Jumbo case. The Royal Oak Self-Winding Flying Tourbillon Ultra-Thin 26670ST is listed as Audemars Piguet’s third R&D project in view of the technical solutions developed by the team to create the new ultra-thin calibre 2968.
treasure Jumbo is the closest thing to an original stainless steel Royal Oak from Gérald Genta. The Royal Oak's original 39mm stainless steel case, distinguished by its octagonal bezel, eight white gold screws and one-piece bracelet, was called "giant", like the London Zoo sold to Barnum and Bailey's Circus in 1882 group of African elephants. One of the most popular and elusive models on the market today, Audemars Piguet has paved the way for Jumbo's 50th anniversary by cancelling the reference 15202 in 2021 and introducing the new Royal Oak Jumbo 16202 in January 2022 . You can read and watch our video of our warm reception of the new Jumbo Extra-Thin ref. 16202 and ultra-thin skeleton, equipped with a new in-house movement, known in AP as Caliber 2121, after five decades of reliance on the JLC 920 ébauche. cheap replica watches
Case and dial Notably, the classic case specifications of the new Jumbo 16202 – 39mm in diameter, 8.1mm in height and 50m water resistance – are preserved in the new Royal Oak RD#3. Granted, the case is slightly thicker than the 7mm original, but comes with a sapphire caseback. The stainless steel case and bracelet feature the signature satin brushed and shiny hand-polished finish.
Like its 1972 predecessor, the new Jumbo Tourbillon 26670ST has a Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50 Petite Tapisserie dial. However, the color is now obtained using a PVD process, ensuring a consistent and long-lasting tone across all dials. The luminous-coated white gold-applied bathtub-shaped hour-markers and hands pay homage to the original. The noon Audemars Piguet signature and minute scale are printed in white, and the flying tourbillon is placed at 6 o’clock.replica Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer
RD#3 AP's ultra-thin self-flying tourbillon is a major breakthrough after 5 years of production and is listed as a research and development timepiece. Known as the RD Watch, the first RD#1 was a prototype of the Royal Oak Concept Minute Repeater Supersonnerie in 2015, and it was commercialized in 2016. In 2018, AP unveiled its RD#2 concept, the prototype of the Royal Oak Self-Winding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin watch with a 2.89mm movement, making it the thinnest automatic calendar watch in the world at the time, and was announced at GPHG in 2019. won the highest award. In 2022, AP will present its latest RD#3 watch, equipped with a new ultra-thin caliber 2968. Unlike previous RD concept watches, the RD#3 is not a concept watch and is released in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak Memorial Day. As the brand notes, this 39mm Jumbo with the new movement will be available in September 2022 in a 37mm version with different dial colors.

New Caliber 2968 The challenge of taking a tourbillon design previously reserved for 41mm watches and fitting it inside a 39mm Jumbo case was addressed with a different solution. For manufacturing, the self-flying tourbillon had to be redesigned to reduce its thickness by repositioning specific components. One of the solutions is to equip the titanium tourbillon cage with a peripheral driver. The combination of titanium alloy and peripheral drive means that the adjustment mechanism is lighter and the energy distribution is improved. Visibility is also a key issue; the flying tourbillon is placed at dial level, and the balance arm has been redesigned and positioned to see the beating heart of the mens replica watches.
The caseback reveals the skeletonized bridges and oscillating weight of the 2968 self-winding movement. The movement is based on the new Caliber 7121 housed inside the automatic Jumbo 16202, with an extended power reserve and a rotor mounted on ball bearings. Consisting of 226 parts, the movement measures 29.6mm in diameter and only 3.4mm in height (just 0.2mm taller than a simple automatic movement). Keep in mind that only the Royal Oak 50th Anniversary watch will be equipped with a special "50 Years" oscillating weight. In this case, the rotor is rhodium-toned 22k rose gold to match the tone of the stainless steel case, and has a polished and satin-brushed finish. From 2023, the dedicated anniversary rotor will disappear.
Hand-decorated movement components add value to the watch, with tires (wire-cut) on the main plate and rhodium-toned skeleton bridges replacing the more traditional Côtes de Genève decoration. The movement beats at 21,600vph and offers a power reserve of 50 hours.replica TONINO LAMBORGHINI SPYDER Watches
